with partners from DATLAB, STEM researchers created an interactive web application that allows visitors to peruse municipality-level quality of life data in the Czech Republic. The database makes it possible, for example, to compare expenditures from municipal budgets per capita between different municipalities, access the out\/in-migration numbers for a given municipality or view the estimated distance to the closest ATM. The database contains many dozens of variables sorted into 11 main categories (eg. Demographics, Employment and Work, Environment, and others). Based on the database, we developed a typology of municipalities in the Czech Republic, which can be viewed in an <a href=\"https:\/\/cnn.iprima.cz\/jak-se-zije-ve-vasi-obci-podivejte-se-na-exkluzivni-mape-zda-je-uspesna-nebo-naopak-opomijena-184930\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interactive of a society divided into two groups does not hold. In Czech society, there are not two immutable, separate groups that would oppose one across a number of social cleavages. Diversity of opinions is important, but consensus and compromise are needed for transforming a conversation into policy In mid-2022, we detected a dramatic deterioration in the subjectively perceived financial health of Czech households when the index fell to its lowest value since 2014. The complicated situation of Czech households at a time of the energy crisis and record inflation is underlined by the fact that, when compared to 2021, this was the sharpest year-on-year decline in One Society<\/em> by Martin Bucht\u00edk<strong> <\/strong>explores when the popular narrative of a \u201cdivided Czech society\u201d holds true\u2014and where it falls short. The book examines the impact of current phenomena such as social media and accelerating technological change, while also asking why we are so drawn to clear-cut stories and why we need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The publication identifies seven largely universal aspects that often underlie the partial narratives and social tensions present in contemporary Czech society. Understanding these aspects can help distinguish between imagined and real concerns, explain differences in everyday storytelling, and shed light on the crisis of politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p disabilities (PwDs) are among the most vulnerable groups in the Czech labour market. Although they approach work with the same motivation as the general population, they continue to face various barriers and prejudices. Under current legislation, companies with more than 25 employees are required to ensure that at least 4% of their workforce consists of people with disabilities. Despite this, employment rates among PwDs in the Czech Republic remain low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To provide a comprehensive understanding of this issue, we are carrying out the project \u201cEmpirical Assessment of the Impacts of Legislative Changes in the Employment of People with Disabilities\u201d (TQ01000447), co-funded by the SIGMA programme of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR). The project is jointly implemented by STEM and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trexima.cz\/zamestnavatele-vnimaji-zamestnavani-ozp-jako-dulezity-prispevek-ke-spolecenske-odpovednosti-vyplynulo-z-pruzkumu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TREXIMA<\/a>, with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic (MoLSA) as the application guarantor.
